Donald Richard Edgar Sunday, June 19, 1938 - Thursday, April 13, 2017

On the evening of Thursday, April 13, 2017At the age of 78, Donald Richard Edgar of Lehighton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Donald was known by many as a very loving and caring man. Donald’s family can attest to his love and devotion. His love and care was witnessed by those who watched him work with children with special needs on his bus. He was a retired Bus Driver and Mechanic with the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit. Donald was a veteran who served with the United States National Guard. He was the son of the late Lulu Sowers and Hamlet Edgar. Donald was survived by his wife Kathryn Edgar of Lehighton, one son and three daughters; Donn husband of Rhonda of Lehighton, Robin wife of Juan Romero of Douglassville, Kelly wife of Charles Ruch of Lehighton and Shannon wife of William Fisher of Lehighton, grandchildren, Stephanie, Lauren, Ashton, Brianna, Katelyn, Carolyn, Christopher, Brandon, Roberta, Samantha and Cameron, one great grandchild, Selah and a sister, Janice husband of Ronald Mahler of Lehighton. He was predeceased by his brother, Dorney and sisters, Sis, Linda and Joyce Service: A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 23rd at 3pm at Packer Ridge Academy (Formerly Packerton High School) 50 Mauch Chunk Street, Lehighton, PA 18235, followed by a luncheon, calling Sunday April 23rd from 2-3PM at Packer Ridge Academy. I knew Donnie through my job decades ago. He was always kind, helpful, and reliable. That is the best thing we can say about anyone. My prayers to him and his family.
